Aviation Software Project Manager Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Aviation Software Project Manager in Seattle, Wa. or Denver, Co. You will join the Flight Performance Applications team within the Digital Services organization in BGS. The Digital Services team provides software solutions to enable aviation customers. Position Responsibilities: Own the software release schedule across multiple aircraft programs, ensuring alignment with customer delivery commitments Maintain and track backlog health in Jira, coordinating closely with Product Management to ensure features, stories, and acceptance criteria are well-defined for execution Facilitate cross-site agile ceremonies to ensure alignment, progress tracking, and timely escalation of blockers Lead stakeholder communications with engineering, test, quality, and airline customer support teams to drive accountability Develop and maintain risk and dependency trackers specific to releases, including third-party integrations and regulatory dependencies Drive customer-facing readiness activities: coordinate release notes, support documentation, and hand-off to airline service teams Track and report on metrics such as velocity, defect closure rates, and release quality to program leadership Support continuous improvement initiatives, including backlog cleanup, Jira workflow enhancements, and reporting improvements Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science) 5+ years of experience in project management Ability to work earlier in the morning and later in the day to support globally-distributed teams Strong knowledge of agile software development practices and tools (Jira, Confluence, ADO) Demonstrated experience managing globally distributed development teams Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): PMP, SAFe, and/or Agile certification or equivalent. Authorized to work in the United States. Proven experience managing complex projects with multiple dependencies. Experience working in the aerospace industry or with performance-critical software. Direct experience with Jira for backlog, feature, and story management. Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC). Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies.
