Full Description

The Senior Labor & Employment / Litigation Counsel is a senior attorney responsible for advising primarily on US Labor & Employment matters and for handling the portfolio of US litigation, with a focus on employment and general litigation. This role reports to BMC Helix’s General Counsel, supports the HR function, provides strategic legal guidance to senior leadership, ensures BMC Helix complies with US employment regulations, and manages relationships with outside counsel and legal budgets to optimize outcomes and cost efficiency across multiple jurisdictions.Key Responsibilities:* Labor & Employment* Partner with HR to assist in all corporate restructuring needs, including risk assessment of potential employment decisions and compliance with state and federal law. Review adverse impact analyses and global risk memoranda.* Support HR to ensure proper legal management of employee issues, including discipline, terminations, security issues, medical accommodations, leaves of absence, manager coaching, and training. Assist HR with all employee issues related to acquisitions and mergers. Lead training regarding employment law issues.* Work with the Compliance and Ethics department on internal investigations and assist with legal issues regarding compliance and ethics. Assist with responses to complainants. Contribute to the creation of quarterly compliance training. Assist with reviewing and updating corporate policies.* Provide legal advice to Compensation & Benefits regarding annual compensation plans, review of job descriptions, and compliance issues involving exempt and non‑exempt employees. Assist the Compensation & Benefits team with audits and employee‑specific issues.* Respond to all incoming EEOC charges by gathering information, conducting interviews, and researching relevant law.* Handle and negotiate with outside counsel on employee issues.* Manage U.S. government investigations or audits, including those from the Office of Federal Contract Compliance.* Litigation Lead internal investigations and resolve legal disputes, ensuring compliance and ethical standards in all regions.
