They also maintain an up-to-date database of hospital contacts and act as the main liaison with the extern software development team.
A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience. The role demands strong communication skills and the ability to manage scheduling and training effectively.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is currently looking to add a Veterinary Clinical Extern Program Coordinator to join our team. Serves as a primary support, communicates directly with veterinary students, determines hospital(s) with programs best fitting individual interests, and connects students to hospital contacts as appropriate. As a Veterinary Clinical Extern Program Coordinator you will: Ensures that students submitting application requests have provided all the required information prior to scheduling externships. Provides a timely experience for veterinary students submitting requests with a goal of getting all externs scheduled within 2 business days or less. Keeps track of student requests and elevates unusual or unexpected delays to line managers as appropriate. Identifies opportunities to improve expectation-setting and communication between the hospitals and the students. Serves as subject matter expert on the extern scheduling software, assists hospitals with booking and maintaining the calendar, and identifies students interested in EmERge or rotating internships. Provides training and updates using a multi-channel, multi-media, results-oriented approach that involves but is not limited to maintaining a Viva Engage channel, leading Teams meetings, creating videos or email. Maintains an up-to-date database of hospital extern coordinators, practice managers and hospital leaders, including notes regarding any special circumstances (i.e. limits to number of externs, pausing programs, etc.). Acts as the primary contact with the extern software development team for all questions and requests. Answers and assists with extern questions and directs other inquiries as needed. Coordinates with all members of the BP Campus Connect team. Addresses scheduling changes in a proactive and timely manner. Responsible for distributing and collating extern feedback responses to stakeholders. Reviews and reports on other companies' extern processes, capturing best practices and implementing or advocating for them as appropriate. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required. 3+ years relevant experience required. Why BluePearl?
