Job Title: Mid level UX/UI Designer (Instructional Design Experience a Plus) Department: Product Design Reports To: Lead Product Designer Location: Remote Overview We are building the next generation of digital learning tools that empower teachers and students to connect, learn, and grow both inside and outside the classroom. We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer who’s passionate about crafting intuitive, engaging experiences that make learning more effective and enjoyable. This role will focus on designing high-quality interfaces for instructional learning content as well as products like the Virtual Classroom, Scheduling Tool, and other digital learning initiatives that serve our K-12 student community. If you have a strong foundation in user experience and interface design and an appreciation for how great design supports learning you’ll thrive in this role. Experience with instructional design principles or EdTech platforms is a strong plus. Key Responsibilities Design Execution • Create user-centered designs for desktop applications, from wireframes to high-fidelity mockups and prototypes. • Translate business and educational requirements into simple, intuitive workflows. • Collaborate closely with developers to ensure design quality and technical feasibility through detailed documentation and specs. User Experience & Research • Participate in user testing and feedback analysis to validate and refine designs. • Apply best practices in accessibility and usability to support diverse learners and educators. • Support the development of scalable design systems that promote consistency across platforms. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner with Product, Development, and Curriculum teams to design features that align with both educational goals and product strategy. • Communicate design decisions clearly and thoughtfully to non-design stakeholders. • Contribute to a collaborative design culture built on transparency, shared learning, and constructive feedback. Instructional Design Integration (Preferred) • Collaborate with curriculum and instructional design teams to visualize learning flows, assessments, and student engagement experiences. • Apply understanding of cognitive load, scaffolding, and learner motivation to interface design. • Help shape interactive experiences that support comprehension and mastery for K-12 students. Qualifications • 3–5 years of professional UX/UI design experience (preferably in a SaaS or EdTech environment). • Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with collaborative design and handoff practices. • Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and responsive design standards. • Experience conducting user testing and synthesizing findings into actionable design improvements. • Excellent visual design skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in education technology, instructional design, or digital learning tools.
