Assist in developing and executing communication strategies, manage media relations, create social media content, and support internal and external communications.
Bachelor’s degree, at least 4 years of experience in communications or related fields, familiarity with media relations, social media, and content management systems.
Job Description: • Assist with the development and execution of communication strategies supporting VA healthcare transformation initiatives. • Support media relations activities, including drafting press releases and responding to media inquiries. • Assist in managing and creating content for social media platforms, ensuring consistency with the VA’s messaging. • Coordinate internal and external communications, including preparing communication materials such as presentations, reports, and briefings. • Help monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts, including tracking media coverage and social media engagement. • Support advertising efforts across different channels, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. • Assist in maintaining content on the VA’s public-facing websites and digital platforms. • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on communication initiatives. • Assist senior communications staff with day-to-day activities related to public relations and outreach. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree. • A minimum of 4 years of experience. • Experience in communications, public relations, or a related field. • Familiarity with media relations, including drafting press releases and supporting media inquiries. • Knowledge of social media platforms and content management systems. • Basic understanding of the principles of public relations and media outreach.
