Full Description

Company Blue Star Alloys Location Livonia, Michigan • On-site Compensation • Base Salary: $130,000 • Commission: Uncapped - earn on every deal you close • Year 1 (building your network): $160,000-$180,000 • Year 2+ (dominating your territory): $175,000-$225,000+ • Elite closers: You decide what you're worth Are You a Hunter or a Farmer? Blue Star Alloys doesn't need someone to "manage relationships" or "coordinate stakeholders." We need a hunter - a high-drive, self-motivated closer who: • Lives for the chase and won't take no for an answer • Measures success in deals closed and margins secured, not meetings attended • Thrives on autonomy and refuses to need hand-holding • Gets restless when they haven't closed something in 48 hours Your job: Market Blue Star Alloys' products and services to scrap yards, machine shops, and manufacturers. You'll create leads, negotiate agreements and close deals with scrap dealers and industrial suppliers - building a locked-in network competitors can't penetrate. If closing deals excites you more than anything else in your professional life - keep reading. If you value stability, structure, and predictability over performance and results - stop here. This isn't for you. What You'll Do • Generate Leads Relentlessly: Aggressive, persistent outreach to scrap yards, machine shops, and industrial manufacturers. Build and maintain 75+ active business relationships through sheer determination and follow-through. • Own Every Deal: Run the complete sales cycle from first contact through contract signature - qualification, pricing negotiation, terms, and close. No hand-offs, no excuses, no safety net. You own it. • Outwork Your Competition: While others work comfortable hours, you're making early calls, late follow-ups, and moving deals forward. Your work ethic is your competitive weapon. • Close Agreements: Negotiate deals, agreements and long-term contracts with scrap dealers and generators. Lock in partnerships that secure volume, protect margin, and keep competitors out. • Manage Your Pipeline: Use CRM to track every lead, opportunity, and close. You'll always know exactly what's in your pipeline and what you're earning. • Stay Ahead of the Market: Monitor commodity pricing and spreads daily. Spot opportunities before competitors see them, and move fast to close first. You're Our Person If: • Experience: 3-5 years where YOU personally hunted, negotiated, and closed deals in sales, business development, market development, or trading. We need to see your track record. • Education: Master's degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required. However, if you have an exceptional history of closing high-value deals, your results matter more than credentials. • Obsessively Self-Motivated: You don't wait for direction or need daily check-ins. You set your own aggressive pace and maintain it without external pressure. Micromanagement would only slow you down. • Relentless Under Pressure: "No" is where you get interested, not where you quit. You follow up repeatedly, reframe your approach, and push until deals close or truly die. • Intensely Competitive: You don't aim to hit quota - you aim to obliterate it and set records. You want to be #1 and you'll outwork everyone to stay there. • Rejection-Proof: You understand that 100 calls might yield 10 conversations and 2 deals. That reality motivates you rather than discourages you. • Data-Obsessed: You live in your CRM, constantly analyzing pipeline, forecasting earnings, and optimizing your approach based on what's actually working. Background That Helps (Not Required): • Experience in B2B sales, industrial sales, or commodities Sales • Prior work in manufacturing, industrial materials, or supply chains • Bottom line: We prioritize proven closers who operate independently. This is a SALES role. If you're coming from procurement where vendors sell TO you, this isn't a fit - here, YOU are doing the selling. You're NOT a Fit If: • You need established processes, extensive training, and constant guidance • You want strict 9-5 boundaries and "quiet weeks" • You require others to motivate and manage you • You get discouraged after a string of rejections • You prefer collaborative environments where success is shared • You value safety and predictability over performance and earning potential This role demands independent, high-performing sales operators who thrive under pressure and autonomy. Why Blue Star Alloys? • Proven Operations: We have established infrastructure, customer relationships, and operational capacity. You're not building from scratch - you're scaling a model that already works. • Lean Equals Fast: Small team means zero bureaucracy, no approval committees, and no corporate politics. Make decisions and execute immediately. • Pure Meritocracy: Your income directly reflects your performance. Close more, earn more. It's beautifully simple. • High-Value Market: Specialty alloys and carbides command premium margins - you're selling value, not price. • Real Autonomy: Own your territory, your strategy, and your results. You'll have direct access to ownership for decisions. • Infrastructure Ready: Operations and logistics can handle serious volume. You focus entirely on hunting and closing. • Aggressive Growth: We're scaling fast. Build the network, dominate your territory, and grow with us. Application Requirements - READ CAREFULLY We will only consider applications that include ALL of the following: 1. Your resume 2. A detailed response to this question: "Describe the most challenging deal you've ever closed. What were you selling or negotiating? What specific obstacles stood in your way? What did you do that others wouldn't have done to get it closed? What was the measurable outcome (revenue, volume, margin, or strategic impact)?" Applications without a substantive answer to this question will not be reviewed. 3. Your honest answer to this: "On a scale of 1-10, how comfortable are you with rejection and repeated 'no's' before getting to 'yes'? Give us a real number and a one-sentence explanation." Three Self-Assessment Questions: Before applying, honestly answer these: • When you close a significant deal, do you immediately start hunting the next one, or do you take your foot off the gas? • Are you more motivated by security (guaranteed salary, benefits, stability) or by performance upside (unlimited commission, meritocracy)? • Have you worked in a SALES role where YOU hunt and close deals? • If you answered: "hunt the next one," "performance upside," and "I'm the hunter/seller" - we want to talk. If you hesitated on any of those answers - this role probably isn't the right fit. Final Note We're not looking for the most applicants. We're looking for the RIGHT applicant. If you're a proven closer who thrives on autonomy, gets energized by challenges, and wants your income tied directly to your results - we want to hear from you. Only apply if you're absolutely confident you can dominate this role. How to Apply Submit your application with all three required components: Email to: hr@bsa-usa.com Subject Line: Sales & Marketing Manager Application - [Your Full Name] Include in your email: • Your resume (attached) • Your detailed answer to the deal question above • Your rejection comfort score (1-10) with explanation • Your responses to the three self-assessment questions Applications missing any of these components will not be reviewed.
