In this role you’ll represent a high‑quality suite of fiber optics and OSP (Outside Plant) materials, owning a defined Upper‑Midwest territory with a collaborator mindset. This is your opportunity to drive tangible growth while maintaining quality of life. If you have strong technical credibility in fiber/OSP, a consultative sales style, and a territory mindset, you may thrive here. Key Responsibilities • Build new business and grow existing relationships across Iowa and Minnesota with contractors, ISPs, co‑ops, utilities and municipalities. • Conduct field‑based product demonstrations, joint calls with both distributor and manufacturer partners, and training events. • Translate OSP/fiber technical concepts (tools, methods, materials) into value‑based solutions for customers and channel partners. • Manage your own call cadence and territory plan, maintain pipeline discipline using Salesforce or equivalent CRM. • Serve as the field‑level resource for quoting, material support, spec‑in opportunities and distributor relationships. • Raise brand awareness in your territory through lunch‑and‑learns, demos, trade‑events and networking. • Collaborate cross‑functionally with manufacturer and internal teams to execute market‑penetration strategies. Candidate Profile • Required Background: 3‑7 years in fiber or OSP ecosystem (could be construction, splicing/field work, distribution, project management) and strong customer‑facing experience. • Technical Credibility: Able to demo and explain fiber/OSP tools, installation methods, materials. Hands‑on splicing or field deployment is a major plus. • Territory/Market Presence: Ideally already calling on or familiar with contractors, ISPs, co‑ops, utilities in IA/MN or nearby Upper Midwest. • Sales DNA: Consultative educator/advisor style rather than aggressive “hard sell.” Ownership mentality, strong follow‑through. • CRM Systems Discipline: Comfortable with Salesforce (or proven CRM rigour + ability to ramp fast). • Culture Fit: Autonomous, low‑ego, transparent communicator, good collaborator, comfortable in a lean organization. Preferred Experience • Prior distributor experience (Graybar, Millennium, KGP, etc) or familiarity with OSP OEMs • History of conducting trainings, demos, lunch‑and‑learns with contractors • Existing relationships in Iowa or Minnesota broadband/utility/contractor ecosystem • Field operations or splicing experience in OSP/fiber environment Requirements • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, ability to travel regionally within IA/MN • Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to end‑users and channel partners • Self‑directed work ethic, discipline to maintain weekly territory plan and pipeline • Must reside in Iowa (preferred) or Minnesota and be positioned for access to customer clusters + major highways Why This Role Is Special • A deliberately shaped territory designed to promote work‑life balance and avoid burnout • You’ll join a small expert team with direct access to leadership, minimal bureaucracy, and real influence • Real W‑2 employment with strong benefits (health plan, 401(k) match, PTO flexibility) • You’ll receive coaching, ride‑along support, skill development in a growth culture • Compensation upside via quarterly commissions and annual bonus; a long‑term path (future equity/buy‑in option) exists • Impactful opportunity: be the recognized market liaison of key product lines across IA & MN, build your footprint and reputation About Blue Signal: Blue Signal is an award-winning, executive search firm specializing in sales & business development recruiting.
