About Us We are a growing behavioral health organization providing psychiatry, therapy, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and substance use disorder treatment. Our mission is to deliver accessible, evidence-based care that transforms lives. To continue scaling our services effectively, we are seeking a dynamic Operations Manager / Chief Operating Officer (COO) to bring high-level leadership, expertise, and strategic oversight to our practice. Position Summary The Operations Manager / COO will serve as a key executive leader, working directly with ownership and clinical leadership to oversee day-to-day operations, optimize workflows, and drive sustainable growth. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with significant experience in behavioral health operations who can contribute both strategic vision and hands-on management. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage daily operations across multiple service lines, including outpatient therapy, psychiatry/medical management, IOP, and substance use disorder programs. • Develop and implement policies, workflows, and systems that support efficiency, compliance, and scalability. • Oversee revenue cycle management, billing workflows, and payer contracting in collaboration with billing staff. • Provide strategic guidance on staffing models, provider productivity, and clinical operations. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance). • Manage provider credentialing processes and payer relationships to support growth. • Partner with ownership to evaluate expansion opportunities, payer negotiations, and program development. • Mentor and support practice management staff, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence. • Track and report on key operational and financial metrics for leadership review. Qualifications Required: • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in a behavioral health or healthcare setting. • Proven track record in practice operations, scaling healthcare services, and managing multidisciplinary teams. • Strong understanding of behavioral health service lines, including outpatient therapy, psychiatry/medical management, IOP, substance use disorder treatment, and group therapy. • Experience with revenue cycle management, payer contracting, and credentialing. • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in behavioral health. • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred: • Executive-level experience (COO, Operations Director, VP of Operations) in a medium to large behavioral health practice. • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field. • Familiarity with EHR platforms (Valant preferred) and healthcare data analytics.
