Position Overview The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for driving group bookings, building and maintaining relationships with corporate clients, schools, organizations, and other group customers. This role requires a highly motivated, results-driven individual with exceptional sales skills and an in-depth understanding of group event logistics. The Group Sales Manager will oversee the entire group sales process, from initial inquiries to post-event follow-up, ensuring an outstanding guest experience and maximizing revenue for the resort. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, an affinity for skiing, and experience in sales and event management. Key ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy & Execution • Develop and implement group sales strategies to attract corporate clients, educational groups, social organizations, and other large bookings to the resort. • Identify new group sales opportunities, including outbound calls, email outreach, and participation in industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events. • Meet or exceed established group sales targets and revenue goals. Client Relationship Management • Serve as the primary point of contact for all group clients, from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business. • Cultivate strong relationships with corporate decision-makers, event planners, travel agents, and local organizations to drive bookings. • Respond promptly to client requests, provide detailed information, and create tailored proposals and packages that meet group needs. Event Coordination & Logistics • Oversee all logistical details for large groups, ensuring smooth execution and memorable guest experiences. • Monitor group bookings to ensure that all requirements are met, and adjust plans as necessary to accommodate special requests or last-minute changes. Team Leadership & Collaboration • Lead and mentor a small team of sales coordinators, providing guidance and support to ensure effective execution of sales and event activities. • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, digital campaigns, and collateral targeting group bookings. • Collaborate with the guest services, ski school, food and beverage, and lodging departments to ensure seamless coordination for group events. Sales Reporting & Analysis • Maintain accurate records of all group inquiries, bookings, and sales performance using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot). • Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for the Director of Sales, analyzing trends, revenue, and conversion rates to drive continuous improvement. • Forecast group booking volumes, identify growth opportunities, and adjust sales strategies to meet changing market conditions. Qualifications • Experience: Minimum of [3-5] years in sales, event management, or hospitality, preferably within the ski, resort, or tourism industry. Experience managing group sales or corporate accounts is highly preferred. • Skills: • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of clients. • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. • A passion for skiing and a solid understanding of ski resort operations is a plus • Attributes: • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven. • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to problem-solve in high-pressure situations. • Detail-oriented with a commitment to providing excellent customer service. • Availability for the 3-month season Physical Requirements • Ability to work in a ski resort environment with varying weather conditions. • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and during peak season (Winter). • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
