Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an innovative automotive manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Interior Design Engineer. This role is responsible for developing luxury interior systems, collaborating cross-functionally to drive high-quality performance, and supporting full lifecycle engineering from concept through launch. Job Duties • Design and develop advanced interior components with emphasis on craftsmanship, ergonomics, and functionality • Lead packaging, release, and validation activities for interior systems such as IPs, door trims, and consoles • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, and vehicle integration, to ensure holistic vehicle performance • Partner with suppliers to ensure component quality, manufacturability, and on-time delivery • Apply CAD tools to generate 2D/3D concepts and packaging layouts for interior systems • Support launch activities and resolve engineering issues during development phases • Leverage and improve internal development tools and methodologies to accelerate product timelines Skills & Experience Required • 4+ years of experience in automotive interior systems development (e.g., hard/soft trim, IPs, headliners) • Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 or similar CAD tools for concept and DFM work • Experience managing full product development cycles through SOP • Strong knowledge of automotive supplier capabilities and component design constraints • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Desired • Experience in the full program lifecycle from concept to production launch • Knowledge of GD&T, DFM principles, plastics design, and injection molding • Familiarity with safety, ergonomics, craftsmanship, and homologation standards for interiors • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, startup-like environment Blue Chip Talent is an award-winning and woman-owned talent solutions provider based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
