Description Bloomsbury is seeking a fall Editorial Intern for its Adult Trade team. The intern will assist our small team of editors in the publication of literary/upmarket fiction and general nonfiction. Please note that interns will not be working with Sarah J. Application deadline: September 19, 2025 Wage: $18.00/hr Duration: This position runs from October 2025 through December 2025 with the opportunity for extension. Time commitment: We require a commitment of 29 hours per week. Availability must include the core hours of 10:00-4:00 Monday-Thursday. Location: Candidates must reside in the NY tri-state area, and be able to work in person 2 days per week. Responsibilities Since we are a small team, interns play an integral role in our day-to-day operations. Intern projects reflect the diverse aspects of trade publishing, including: • Promptly reading, evaluating, and discussing manuscripts and proposals (both fiction and nonfiction) • Attending editorial meetings, season launches, check-ins, and other meetings as necessary • Leading our literary award submission process • Conducting research and contributing to metadata • Other duties as assigned Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, able to manage their own time, and highly organized. Candidates must have a demonstrable interest in contemporary literature and publishing. Interns will have the opportunity to attend programming designed to introduce them to the various departments within Bloomsbury, provide them with networking opportunities, and prepare them for the job application process.
