Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Commodity Management • Develop and implement multi-year sourcing strategies aligned with corporate goals and market dynamics. • Lead supplier negotiations, contract development, and performance management for assigned categories. • Monitor global commodity markets and proactively identify risks and opportunities. • Own and manage commodity coverage strategies, including hedging and margin enhancement. • Drive supplier innovation and continuous improvement initiatives. • Proactively develop new suppliers based on appropriate assessments. Risk Management & Market Intelligence • Analyze exposure to price, supply, tariffs and logistics risks; develop mitigation plans. • Mitigate risk using futures markets available for assigned categories, manage futures positions through completion. • Provide regular market updates and strategic insights to senior leadership. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align risk strategies with business needs. • Ensure data-driven purchasing contracts and inventory management and prioritize consensus when deviating from established principles. Cross-Functional Leadership • Partner with R&D, QA, and Operations to support new product development and cost optimization. • Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate alternative ingredients and packaging solutions. • Support S&OP processes with commodity forecasts and supply planning inputs. • Maintain an optimal balance between PPV and sales margin. Financial & Operational Impact • Deliver annual cost savings targets through strategic sourcing and supplier collaboration. • Report forecasted PPV, budget impacts, and commodity trends to Finance and senior management. • Ensure accurate and timely commodity pricing updates in ERP systems. • Forecast future raw material balance based on inventory and purchasing contracts and formulate necessary countermeasures. • Always strive to improve Working Capital and maximize financial efficiency. Team & Talent Development • Mentor and guide Procurement Analysts and junior team members. • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Note: The employer reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position Physical Requirements: • General office environment with majority of time using computer; prolonged periods of sitting • Requires Infrequent Travel (10-20%) Safety, Quality and Hygiene Requirements: • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and code of conduct Performance Expectations: • Deliver measurable procurement savings and risk mitigation across the network to achieve annual PPV benchmarks. • Provide thought leadership in commodity strategy and supplier management. • Maintain deep knowledge of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry innovations. Skills and Experience Requirements: • 3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment. • Proven track record in supplier negotiation, risk management, and cost savings delivery. • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with ERP systems preferred. • Experience with SAP preferred. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Procurement, Finance, or related field -- or comparable work experience. • MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M.) preferred. The base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. The actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, education, certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position. This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
