The Editorial Intern position is ideal for aspiring music journalists and PR buffs, entertainment critics, or writers passionate about amplifying unheard of voices. You'll contribute writings to our record label’s digital music magazine, Unheard Of, through: artist profiles, new release feature articles, music reviews, artist Q&As and music culture commentary. This is a chance to share your editorial abilities and literary voice with the world, and in the process, gain invaluable hands-on experience in music journalism. About BleuMoon BleuMoon Music Group is an independent record label and artist services company based in Atlanta and New York City. Built by artists, for artists, we like to think of ourselves as part of the new generation of music companies—flexible, transparent, and genuinely invested in helping creatives grow on their own terms. Sometimes that looks like à la carte administrative support, other times it’s free educational resources, free digital press, or good 'ole fashioned label partnerships — but the point is: we meet artists where they’re at, not where we think they should be. And as part of our commitment to serving the broader independent music community, BleuMoon’s in-house publications and media platforms—like Unheard Of, a digital music magazine, and The BleuPrint, a visual behind-the-music interview series—extend beyond the label’s roster and offer free press and visibility to emerging artists across genres. Role Responsibilities • Write pieces/stories for the label’s digital magazine publication Unheard Of (i.e. artist profiles, feature stories, QnA's, music reviews, and pop-culture commentary) • Conduct one-on-one Zoom or phone interviews with artists directly • Edit and proofread written content for clarity, tone, and accuracy • Research and pitch editorial content ideas for the magazine • Collaborate with editors and designers on story presentation • Note: While interns will primarily focus on their assigned role, there are optional opportunities to learn about and collaborate with other areas of the label — including A&R, Business and Legal, Live Events, Publishing, and more. If you’re ever curious or have specific questions, we’re always happy to share our insights! Qualifications • Must be eligible to receive academic credit from your college or university • Strong writing skills with a distinctive voice and attention to detail • Interest in music journalism, cultural criticism, or storytelling • Ability to conduct and synthesize artist interviews effectively and professionally • Familiarity with Google Docs and collaborative writing workflows • Must have your own laptop and reliable internet connection • Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable working independently Compensation For academic credit only.
