Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Trucking Manager to oversee the daily operations of our transportation fleet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating logistics, managing drivers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing delivery schedules. This leadership role requires excellent communication skills, strategic planning abilities, and a strong understanding of trucking industry standards to ensure efficient and safe transportation services. Responsibilities • Supervise and coordinate the activities of trucking staff, including drivers and support personnel. • Develop and implement routing plans to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines. • Monitor fleet performance, maintenance schedules, and compliance with safety regulations. • Manage driver schedules, training, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of service. • Ensure all transportation activities adhere to federal, state, and local regulations. • Handle administrative tasks such as record keeping, reporting, and budgeting related to fleet operations. • Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize supply chain processes and improve overall operational efficiency. • Address any issues or delays promptly to minimize impact on delivery timelines. Requirements • Proven experience in trucking or transportation management, with a strong understanding of logistics operations. • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. • Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. • Effective communication skills for coordinating with drivers, clients, and internal teams. • Ability to analyze data and utilize transportation management software for planning and reporting purposes. • Valid driver’s license preferred; relevant certifications in transportation or logistics are a plus. • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or business management is advantageous.
