We are seeking a Communications Metrics & Strategy Analyst to support a federal science agency’s public affairs office. This role focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of strategic communications, refining outreach and engagement strategies, and using performance data and audience feedback to strengthen written, digital, and multimedia communications. The analyst will work closely with public affairs, communications, and program staff to assess campaign performance, identify insights, and support data-informed decision-making aligned with the agency’s mission and national priorities. This role will support high-visibility communications in a federal environment. Work will be primarily onsite at the agency’s headquarters, with situational telework available upon approval. Key Responsibilities • Support the development and refinement of strategic communications aligned with agency mission and national priorities • Evaluate communications campaigns using qualitative and quantitative performance measures, including audience feedback and engagement data • Analyze the effectiveness of written, digital, and multimedia communications across platforms • Assist in developing audience-specific communication and engagement plans informed by data and performance insights • Support integrated communications strategies that coordinate messaging across channels • Translate metrics and findings into clear, actionable recommendations for communications and leadership teams • Contribute to continuous improvement of communications products and campaigns based on performance analysis • Collaborate with communications staff to establish metrics, benchmarks, and performance indicators • Prepare written summaries, reports, and documentation of findings, trends, and recommendations • Participate in coordination meetings with the COR and program staff to discuss progress, issues, and solutions Required Qualifications • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience supporting strategic communications • Demonstrated experience evaluating and refining communications campaigns using audience feedback and performance measures • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess communications effectiveness • Experience supporting integrated communications strategies across written, digital, and multimedia products • Ability to clearly communicate findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders • Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting communications for federal agencies, science-based organizations, or research-focused organizations • Familiarity with federal public affairs or legislative communications environments • Experience developing or advising on communications strategies informed by performance metrics • Strong written communication skills for reporting and executive-level summaries • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary communications teams Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Employee assistance program • Employee discount • Flexible spending account • Health insurance • Paid time off • Professional development assistance • Retirement plan • Vision insurance Work Location: Hybrid remote in Alexandria, VA 22314
