Job Title: Community Mental Health Liaison - 911 Dispatch Center Company Overview: BJC is a leading healthcare organization committed to providing exceptional care and support to communities across the region. Role Overview: As a Community Mental Health Liaison at the 911 Dispatch Center, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health crises by providing expert guidance and coordination during emergency calls. You will work closely with the 911 Crisis Center team to ensure appropriate mental health resources are mobilized efficiently. What You'll Do: - You will respond to mental health-related calls received through the 911 dispatch system. - You will assess situations and provide immediate support and guidance to callers in crisis. - You will collaborate with emergency responders and mental health professionals to coordinate care and resources. - You will document call details accurately and maintain confidential records. - You will participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices. - You will contribute to the development of protocols and procedures to improve crisis response. - You will provide education and resources to the community and first responders as needed. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years experience in mental health, crisis intervention, or related field. - Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, crisis management, and community resources. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with callers and team members. - Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure. - Proficiency with phone systems and basic computer applications. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in a 911 dispatch or emergency response environment. - Certification in crisis intervention or mental health first aid. - Familiarity with local mental health service providers and community resources. - Bilingual skills to support diverse populations.
