Overview It is an exciting time to join BISSELL in this newly formed role and team! The new Pet Innovation team is comprised of passionate marketers who will play the role of entrepreneurs within our fast-growing, family owned company. We are looking for energetic, passionate, and intellectually curious marketers who can hit the ground running and deliver against our vision. We are seeking a pet industry rockstar. One that holds understanding and empathy for pet parents, understands how to reach this target audience and how to build winning marketing strategies to grow brands and products in this space. The Sr. Brand Manager, Pet Innovation position will play a key role within our high-energy, fast-paced, entrepreneurial group dedicated to standing up a new business pillar strategically aligned with BISSELL’s growth ambitions. Reporting to the Director, Pet Innovation, the Sr. Brand Manager will be accountable for owning and leading our global Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy and flawless execution of our new products as well as post management of scalable growth. As a self starter, they will initiate, plan, execute and lead all marketing efforts. They will work closely with our integrated marketing and sales teams to create winning marketing plans and set robust pricing and promotion strategies. This role will experience the thrill of taking products from idea all the way through launching in markets around the world while supporting lofty growth targets and a sustainable growth model. This role will work closely with its Brand Manager counterpart on the product side to transition from product creation and lead the efforts through to go to market execution. This position requires experience in leading marketing strategies and building go to market plans specifically from the pet industry, and a BA/BS in marketing or related field of study. Candidate must demonstrate proven experience within the pet industry, GTM tactics, marketing strategies that resonate towards pet parents, strong business acumen, experience in managing marketing campaigns, as well as leadership of cross-functional teams. Responsibilities • Deep experience working in the pet industry. Understands the retailer market, financial barriers to entry, and how to win in this space • Holds consumer empathy. Identifies and defines consumer needs. Champions the voice of the consumer on all projects. • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with cross functional stakeholders to support the launch of our new products and acceleration of growth. • Lead annual demand planning, sales selling kits and demo strategy. • In collaboration with integrated marketing team, build winning 360 marketing campaigns consisting of influencers, advertising, media, public relations, organic social, content development, sell in kits, messaging, brand partnerships and more • Parter with sales to develop strong sales and promotional strategies understanding the market dynamics and how to win with our key competitors • Stay close to the evolving market dynamics, driving forward insights from a competitive lens. • Global mindset. Execute all marketing plans and sales strategies in collaboration with our global leaders. • Bring forward creative thinking with a proven track record of leveraging consumer insights into actionable marketing plans • Strong financial acumen in support of building a financially viable P&L with gross margin and allocable operating income that meet/exceed objectives and profitability expectations for launch. • Responsible for managing budgets including market research, advertising, packaging and display items • Collaborate with Global Product Development teams through baseline understanding of various functions such as consumer insights, CX, R&D, finance, manufacturing, supply chain, and sales. • Ability to communicate effectively with top management, project team members, manufacturing units, and all other Associates. Proven ability to influence without authority. • Works closely with other team members of the product business unit team and other support groups to meet timelines and budget objectives. Keeps Category Director informed of key issues. • Ability to flex style to work well with others and navigate ambiguity within the dynamics of setting up a new business venture. • Understand and be held accountable for all the category’s goals (including profitability). In conjunction with category director, develop and implement strategy to meet or exceed these goals. • May be required to perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION • Degree minimum: Bachelor’s degree • Specific concentration: Marketing or Business • Experience level: 7+ years in pet consumer products industry. Experience in brand marketing initiatives, PR, partnerships, social, advertising, and GTM strategies. Experience leading cross-functional teams. Experience developing and presenting marketing plans to leadership. Preferred SPECIALIZED TRAINING/EDUCATION PREFERRED • BA in Marketing and/or equivalent years of experience • MBA preferred WHAT’S NEXT? APPLY NOW!
