Part-Time/Temp-to-Hire Research Assistant/Associate (in vivo; Friday – Monday Schedule) Summary: A small, dynamic, and growing Biotech/Pharmaceutical contract research company located in Waltham, MA is seeking to hire a highly motivated Research Assistant/Associate with education in animal science, biology, or other related life science. The ideal candidate will have direct and hands-on experience with a variety of in vivo skill-sets including rodent dosing by various routes (IV, IP, SC, PO, etc) and sample collection. Experience with disease induction and clinical scoring is a plus. This position requires a high degree of flexibility and the ability to work independently, as well as exceptional communication and organizational skills. This is a part-time/temp-to-hire position (32 hrs/week) that provides a competitive salary and opportunity for exposure to a wide and exciting variety of experimental techniques and disease indications. Role and Responsibilities: • Provide in vivo technical support for studies supporting multiple disease areas and therapeutic modalities • Act as lead technician on in vivo experiments, both in collaboration with other members of the technical team and independently, using routine and specialized techniques and methods • Serve as a mentor to less experienced staff • Record results, organize and analyze data (Microsoft Excel), and perform basic statistical analyses • Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment, in compliance with IACUC protocols, Work Practices, OLAW, and the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals to maintain AAALAC accreditation and OLAW assurance • Comply with all safety and infection control standards • Perform other duties as required • Role has a non-traditional schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday) Required Qualifications: • AAS or BS in biology or other science, with a preference for a focus on animal science, and a minimum of 1- 2 years of rodent handling experience • Ability to perform duties independently and as directed. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment. • Careful documentation of work performed including organizing data, maintaining notebooks and implementing experimental protocols. • Work independently with guidance and mentorship Company Description: Biomodels is an established, innovative, and growing pre-clinical CRO with an international clientele and notoriety for its expertise in translational research in the areas of supportive cancer care, inflammatory diseases, oncology, radiation biology, fibrosis, and numerous other indications.
