A full-time opportunity is available for a qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to serve students from K-12 in a Louisiana school setting. This contract position runs from ASAP through May 22, 2026, offering a chance to make a meaningful difference within a dynamic educational environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students across the K-12 spectrum. • Assess individual student needs and create tailored learning plans to foster educational success. • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to implement appropriate accommodations. • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational standards and policies. • Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in visual impairment education. Qualifications: • Active Louisiana Department of Education certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired is required. • Experience teaching visually impaired students in K-12 settings preferred. • Ability to deliver full-time instruction, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, aligned with the school calendar. • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, and educational teams. • Candidates must be ready to begin work immediately and hold current certification; candidates awaiting licensing will not be considered. Location: • Position based in Harvey, Louisiana, serving schools in the Jefferson Parish area.
