Duties • Design and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with students’ IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals across subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and life skills. • Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive classroom behavior and create a safe learning environment. • Utilize specialized teaching methods including Montessori or other progressive approaches suited to student needs. • Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to integrate speech therapy, behavioral therapy, and sensory strategies into daily instruction. • Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. • Manage classroom activities efficiently using learning technology tools to enhance engagement and facilitate differentiated instruction. • Support early intervention initiatives and provide toddler care or preschool education for younger children requiring specialized attention. • Develop and maintain detailed documentation such as progress reports, behavior logs, and IEP updates to ensure compliance and effective communication with families. Requirements • Proven classroom management skills with experience working with children of various ages, including preschoolers and toddlers. • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and special education practices. • Experience working with students who have autism, developmental disabilities, hearing impairments (deaf education), or other disabilities. • Familiarity with curriculum development tailored for diverse learning needs across subjects like literacy education, math, physical education, and behavioral health. • Ability to implement behavioral health strategies such as behavioral therapy and behavior management techniques effectively. • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, therapists, and caregivers. • Knowledge of IEP processes and experience in conducting assessments for educational planning purposes. • Proficiency in using learning technology tools to support instruction and student engagement. • Prior experience in early childhood education or daycare settings is highly desirable. • Certification in special education or relevant teaching credentials required by state or local regulations; additional certifications in speech therapy or behavioral health are a plus.
