Workplace type Remote within California (Hybrid optional) Location California, United States Employment type Contract · Part-time (≈ 5–10 hrs/week) About the role Seeking a detail-oriented paralegal or Legal Document Assistant (LDA) with California trust and probate administration experience to support a Personal Representative. This is an administrative role focused on navigating trust and estate management—not a formal legal representation position. You’ll assist in organizing documents, preparing filings, tracking deadlines, and coordinating communication across trustees, beneficiaries, and other professionals. What you’ll do • Prepare and maintain trust and probate-related documents and correspondence • Assist with filings, notices, and administrative forms under direction of the Personal Representative • Track activities, deadlines, and reporting requirements for trust and estate matters • Organize receipts, payments, and expense logs for bookkeeping or court review • Coordinate with beneficiaries, accountants, attorneys, and financial institutions • Maintain accurate digital records and provide periodic administrative updates What we’re looking for • Experience with California trust and/or probate administration (required) • Registered & bonded LDA or certified paralegal (preferred) • Familiarity with trust account record-keeping, beneficiary communications, and compliance documentation • Strong organization, communication, and discretion with sensitive information • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with QuickBooks or similar helpful • Knowledge of California probate procedures and required filings Compensation Hourly or monthly retainer; commensurate with experience. Flexible scheduling (5–10 hrs/week average).
