As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly organized professional to join our team as the Landscape Operations Manager. In this key role, the ideal candidate will oversee the day-to-day field and administrative operations of the Berns Landscape Division. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills along with knowledge of landscape operations. Duties Included but not Limited to: Job Management & Scheduling: Enter hours and material allocations, including garden center (G/C) planting and delivery hours. Review completed jobs for accuracy and forward paperwork to the Designer. Schedule crews, print job information, and finalize job packets. Ensure G/C delivery job sheets are placed in daily slots and match G/C book records. Distribute daily plant material requirements to appropriate staff. Orchestrate trucks and equipment usage (prioritize when conflicts arise). Schedule new won jobs in Aspire (including warranty work). Receive materials into Aspire and attach purchase orders for approval. Orchestrate labor returning to shop early in the day. Review daily agendas of Production Foremen and Plant Coordinators, prioritizing or approving as needed. Troubleshoot operational issues as they arise. Employee Oversight: Review and approve Aspire hours for employees. Review and approve PTO and requested days off in Paycom. Conduct or assist in monthly foremen meetings. Review monthly efficiencies with landscape foremen. Conduct annual performance reviews. Manage employee discipline and documentation. Participate in interviewing and hiring potential employees. Add new drivers to company insurance policies. Materials & Inventory Management: Order or delegate ordering of hardscape materials, sod, mulch, gravel, and other bulk materials. Obtain and maintain inventory of natural and manufactured hardscape materials. Maintain inventory of bulk, miscellaneous 880 materials, spare tools, and equipment. Track and manage company fuel and DEF inventory. Develop spring tool/material order lists. Equipment & Vehicle Oversight: Oversee all truck and equipment maintenance. Schedule annual trailer maintenance. Maintain current insurance cards, registration forms, and licenses for all company trucks and trailers. Administrative & Strategic Duties: Communicate schedules and hotline updates during rainy days. Attend and participate in Monday morning info/training meetings. Review and approve timecards and payroll entries in Paycom. Review end-of-month items in Aspire and assist with financial closeout. Develop Saturday work schedules for peak season (April–June). Assist in creating winter non-billable work lists. Support long-term planning and operational improvements for the division. Qualifications The Ideal Candidate has the Following 5+ years of experience in landscape operations, construction management, or a related field. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple crews and projects. Thorough knowledge of landscape construction, plant materials, and equipment operation. Proficiency with Aspire, Paycom, or similar job/employee management software. Strong organizational and communication skills. Valid driver’s license required. Why Work with Us?
