The Claims Intake Associate will answer calls and provide exceptional customer service to claimants and other stakeholders. They will also receive and record potential claims, research information, and update call notes within the Claims’ Systems.

Requirements

Candidates should have a general understanding of insurance coverage and be detail-oriented. Excellent research and interpersonal skills, along with basic computer knowledge, are also required.

We are looking for enthusiastic Claims Intake professionals to join and grow with our team! Shift Available: 8am - 4:30PM CST. Job Responsibilities Regularly answer calls in a timely, positive manner and provide exceptional customer service Receive inbound calls from claimants, attorneys, vendors, brokers, Third Party Administrators and agents regarding claims Make outbound calls, when necessary, to policy holders, claimants, and adjustors accordingly to obtain additional information for claim submission Receive and record potential claims by phone and email Research requested information using available resources and provide accurate and detailed information regarding all inquiries, based on protocol Complete call notes and call reports as necessary and update them within the Claims’ Systems, recording details of comments, inquiries, complaints, and actions taken Route calls to other team members and departments when necessary Escalate customer concerns as needed Qualifications A general understanding of insurance coverage (e.g. claimant and type of claim, etc.) Must be detail oriented, paying special attention to spelling, punctuation, grammar, and information Must be compassionate, patient, and professional Must have basic computer knowledge – using multiple screens and systems Adaptability - Agents must be flexible and open to change Excellent research and interpersonal skills Experience in customer service About BHDIC BHDIC is where commercial insurance buyers can obtain coverage for their businesses from insurers of the Berkshire Hathaway group of Insurance Companies, one of the best capitalized insurance groups in the world. The salary range for this position is $20-24 per hour. Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
