Administer employee health and welfare plans including open enrollment, benefit system configuration, reporting, client communication, and audit support.
2-5 years employee benefit and HRIS experience, proficiency in benefit system reporting, strong Excel skills, excellent communication, and client management abilities.
BMS is looking for an experienced candidate to work in a fast-paced client oriented environment. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious self-starter with strong benefit and benefit system experience. The role of the Benefit Specialist is a critical one. The candidate will be part of a team responsible for the administration of health and welfare plans maintained by multiple clients. JOB DESCRIPTION The Benefit Specialist is responsible specifically to clients on a number of levels: Responsibilities and Duties: · Open Enrollment execution · Assist in configuring and testing benefit systems · Running reports in benefit systems · Assist in the preparation of communication materials (posters, postcards) · Assist in the preparation and distribution of Open Enrollment and New Hire Guides · Participate in phone queues for respective client to ensure calls are answered promptly and accurately · Make weekly eligibility updates between benefit system and client’s payroll and carriers/vendors. Terminations, changes, adds, etc. · Responsible for the weekly carrier error reports and resolving all issues · Assist with data audits to ensure maintenance of accurate employee benefit information · Monthly invoice reconciliations and research on discrepancies · Working with the carriers or vendors on benefit changes, file layouts, etc. · Assist with the annual audit filling and 5500 filing of qualified 401K plans Qualification and Requirement: · 2 – 5 years’ employee benefit and HRIS experience a must; · Must have Benefit System Reporting experience · Excellent customer service mindset and commitment to issue resolution · Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced changing environment · Must possess the highest degree of honestly, personal integrity and ethical standards when dealing internally and externally with peers and vendors · Excellent verbal communication skills · Computer Skills and knowledge of Excel to include V Lookups, Pivot Tables and really comfortable in data files. · Must be detail oriented Education/Training/Experience: · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required · Client management skills · Ability to manage multiple priorities Job Type: Full-time Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Employee assistance program • Employee discount • Flexible spending account • Health insurance • Health savings account • Life insurance • Paid time off • Retirement plan • Vision insurance Work Location: Remote
