Role Summary: We’re looking for a versatile and detail-oriented Fashion Apparel Designer to support the design and development of our collections from concept through production. This role is ideal for a designer who can seamlessly balance creative design with technical execution — owning garment construction, fit, and technical specs while also creating original prints, patterns, and surface designs. You’ll work closely with leadership to bring thoughtfully designed, production-ready apparel to life. This role requires both strong aesthetic sensibility and a deep understanding of garment construction and technical design. This position is part-time and in-person in Downtown Los Angeles. Responsibilities: Apparel Design & Concept Development • Design seasonal apparel collections aligned with brand identity and creative direction • Create original prints, patterns, and surface designs for garments across categories • Develop color palettes, print layouts, and pattern placements for production • Research trends, fabrics, silhouettes, and market direction to inform design decisions Technical Design & Product Development • Create detailed tech packs, including measurements, construction details, BOMs, and callouts • Develop and maintain accurate spec sheets for all styles • Review and comment on samples, fittings, and revisions to ensure fit, quality, and design intent • Communicate fit and construction feedback clearly to factories and production partners • Collaborate on fabric, trim, and material selection to ensure production feasibility Print, Pattern & Graphic Design • Design repeat prints, engineered prints, and placement graphics • Prepare print-ready files and colorways for production • Work with vendors to approve strike-offs, lab dips, and print samples • Ensure accurate scaling, color consistency, and placement across sizes and styles Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner with production and operations teams to meet development timelines • Collaborate with merchandising and leadership on assortment planning and pricing considerations • Support photoshoots and fittings as needed to ensure product accuracy and representation Quality & Production Support • Assist in production approvals and pre-production checks • Ensure garments meet quality, fit, and construction standards prior to bulk production • Support troubleshooting during sampling and production as issues arise Requirements • 3–6 years of experience in apparel design with hands-on technical design and print & patternmaking experience • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design, or a related field from an accredited institution or recognized fashion school • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and patternmaking principles • Proven experience creating tech packs and managing fittings • Experience designing prints, patterns, and surface graphics for apparel • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop • Experience working directly with overseas factories • Strong understanding of fabrications, trims, and production methods • Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Excellent communication and organization skills • Knowledge of PLM systems • Experience across multiple apparel categories (woven, knit, cut & sew) • Background in contemporary or premium apparel brands • Based in Los Angeles — in-person role Benefits: • Hands-on experience in fashion apparel design • Career growth within a dynamic, collaborative team • Competitive pay: $25 - $35 per hour based on experience • Occasional product perks and team events How to Apply: If you’re a self-starter with a passion for fashion and operational excellence, we’d love to hear from you!
