Full Description

The Project Management Office [PMO] Director is a key strategic leader at Bednark Studio, responsible for ensuring excellence and consistency across all project execution. This role oversees five core areas: • PMO Standards & Best Practices. • Project Distribution & Resourcing. • Design Strategy & Creative Problem Solving. • Production Analysis & Retrospectives. • Financial Reporting & PMO Analytics. Core Responsibilities: 1. Define and Maintain PMO Standards: The PMO Director sets and enforces standards for how projects are managed at Bednark-bringing structure, consistency, and repeatable success across the organization. This includes developing tools, workflows, and systems that support efficiency and scalability in project execution. • Oversees PMO operations, output, and the quality of client and production management. • Ensures project management tools and guidelines are followed and that they promote efficiency and consistency. Sets bi-annual performance and development goals with PMO staff. 2. Project Distribution & Resourcing: In partnership with Business Development and the CEO, the PMO Director reviews new project inquiries and strategically assigns projects to the appropriate PMO leads. They ensure projects are matched with the right talent and capacity, setting each team up for success from day one. • Partners with CEO, Business Development, and Production to assess and approve incoming projects. • Assigns projects to PMO teams based on scope, capacity, and expertise. • Collaborates with team leads to define SOW and develop client quotes. Ensures project management teams act with urgency following hand offs, validate budgets, follow standard production process, build appropriate ROSs and close out projects properly. 3. Design Strategy & Problem Solving: At project kickoff, the PMO Director partners with team leads to shape the creative and technical approach, addressing potential challenges early. They provide strategic support to ensure design intent aligns with production feasibility and client expectations. Collaborates with PMO team leads to value engineer client visions and develop build strategies based on shop capabilities, past experience, and best practices. 4. Production Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Following project completion, the PMO Director conducts post-mortems with team leads—reviewing what worked, what didn’t, and where we can improve. This role is critical to embedding a culture of continuous improvement in production. • Conducts monthly project reviews with team leads to assess delivery quality and extract lessons learned. • Facilitates monthly cross-departmental reviews with Directors to align on PMO performance and improvement opportunities. Reviews expense reports with the Controller to identify financial trends and operational inefficiencies. 5. Financial Reporting & Analytics: Working closely with the Controller, the PMO Director reviews expense reports, identifies trends, and conducts analysis to uncover efficiencies and opportunities. They contribute to forecasting and business development efforts by translating project data into actionable insights. • Collaborates with the Controller to generate accurate PMO financial reports. Conducts forecasting and financial analysis to support strategic planning and business development. The hiring for this role involves 4 rounds of interviews: • Round 1: 30-minute virtual. • Round 2: In person, Director team. • Round 3: In person, Organizational Development & Production team. • Round 4: In person, Business Development team.
