About the Organization The Beaverton Downtown Association (BDA) works to strengthen the heart of downtown Beaverton by enhancing community identity and heritage, fostering a vibrant center of activity, and ensuring long-term economic vitality. As a nationally recognized Main Street organization, the BDA is powered by passionate volunteers, local leaders, and community partners working together to make downtown Beaverton thrive. About the Role We are seeking dedicated community members to join our volunteer Board of Directors. Board Members help guide the strategic vision of the BDA, provide oversight and accountability, and support initiatives that enhance the economic and cultural vitality of our downtown district. Ideal Candidates We’re looking for individuals who: • Have a strong connection to Downtown Beaverton—as a business owner, property owner, resident, or active community member. • Are passionate about community building, economic development, and small business support. • Can contribute professional expertise, volunteer leadership, or financial support to advance our mission. Board Members typically dedicate 5–10 volunteer hours per month and serve a three-year term. Committee chairs serve two-year terms, and executive officers serve one-year terms within their overall commitment. Key Responsibilities • Champion and promote the mission and vision of the Beaverton Downtown Association. • Attend and actively participate in monthly Board meetings. • Serve as an ambassador for the organization in the community. • Provide accountability and oversight for BDA programs and projects. • Fundraise and support organizational sustainability through sponsorships, donor engagement, and advocacy. • Recruit volunteers and future Board members. • Lead or participate in community initiatives and downtown events.
