Tribal Preference will be given in accordance with BRBRR Act Relating to Employment POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the successful daily operations of the Hotel Front Desk, and Reservations. Must strike a balance between guest satisfaction and effective business management. Must ensure each team member meets or exceeds guest service expectations and ensure team members work well together. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: • Schedule and delegate work to the Front Desk and Reservations departments. • Oversee daily operational issues. • Responsible for development, training and corrective action of team members. • Follow up on guest history group block pick-ups and cut off dates. • Work with Hotel Manager to stay current on room rates, competitor’s rates, room availability and emergency procedures. • Resolve or refers to other Management all guest concerns, complaints or suggestions in a continuous effort to provide superior guest service. • Assist in the training, development and direction of the Hotel Front Desk and Reservations departments. • Assist in creating, implementing, and achieving the departmental budgets for the Front Desk and Reservation departments. Utilizing established daily wage management techniques, time and attendance payroll management software, and appropriate adjustments to the proportionality of business needs to staffing levels. • Maintain appearance standards as outlined in departmental and hotel and casino policies. • Prepare all PO’s for Front Desk and Reservations, give to Hotel Manager for signature. • Provide courteous service to our guests and be cordial to all Team Members. • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. • Other duties as assigned. AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Directly supervises front office and guest services teams. • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. • Works with highly sensitive information, maintains confidentiality and discretion in all areas, including planning and promotional procedures and guest information files. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • Must be at least 18 years of age. • Must have High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree). • Front desk, reservations, bell staff or previous experience required. • Fluency within data base programs preferred. • Good organization and administration skills required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: • Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance. COMPUTER OPERATIONS • Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Computer experience essential, including all windows applications. Prefer individual that is proficient in LMS Property Management software. LANGUAGE SKILLS: • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY: • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.). • Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture. • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources. • Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort. • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill. • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This is not a smoke free workplace. Although we employ state of the art filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the environment.
