Full Description

This opportunity is set up as a long-term contract engagement that is hybrid on-site 1-2 days per week in downtown Chicago or open to remote for the right individual. • Targeting experience in working with multiple application/technical teams, can handle clear communication from technical to executive, and has strong presentation skills. • Ideal candidate - experience from the AppDev world working on new product development at legacy enterprise orgs. A generalist with comfort in business spaces, PgM spaces, and IT/dev spaces. Airline experience is preferred. • Interviewed candidates has strong resumes but wasn't able to provide specific examples of their work in detail which made the decision to reject the candidates hard. • Please be sure your candidates are able to speak in detail about their experience and recent projects they've worked on. • Also, if your candidates should have a work gap, please explain in the comments section. About Project: • Developing a new customer-facing product to improve experience for wheelchair customers that involves several areas of operation and its applications. Direct engagement with App Dev teams, business/operations, and senior leadership Qualifications & Experience App Dev PgM experience • 3 years of App Dev program management- particularly leading large, cross-functional development and implementations App Dev technical experience • +5 years of overall experience in the AppDev space. Should be comfortable with modern microservice architectures, enterprise architectures, DevOps principles, and standard SDLC patterns BA or SA work • +1 year of experience doing BA and Solution Architect-like work, but they do not need to have formally been either Budget & Resource Management • +1 year of Budget & Resource Management - comfort overseeing and managing a budget- tracking weekly spends, making monthly forecast updates, and spotting risks to spend • Key Skills • Cross-functional: know how to trust individual team leads/PMs/scrum masters, while also helping them and creating accountability in situations where you aren’t the most important project on someone’s radar • Capable of working with a number of teams that have their own methodologies, cadences, tech-stacks, and behaviors- and not getting frustrated by the differences. Needs to be able to meet both an agile micro-service team and a legacy waterfall mono-app team on their terms and get what they need from both. • Comfort in talking with business in business speak, then pivoting to tech team speak, either in terms of tech or understanding the unique business pressures dev teams face. From experience, they know “what matters” to a business-side director and a DT-side Sr. Manager, and can ‘code switch’ between them • Some experience as a BA and solution architect. Need to be able to help facilitate the answering questions like “what is it everyone wants” and “how can we deliver this” with some experience and a drive to get those answers • Willingness to own small decisions and comfort in knowing what’s material and not Required skills: • Strong Communication (verbal, written) particularly to Executive Leadership • Self-Drive / Asking the right questions / Resourceful • Technical / contextual knowledge - Enterprise Architecture/Platform Engineering/DevOps • Decision Making & Problem Solving • Ability to Influence / Negotiation • Tools - Jira, Confluence, Clarity, PowerBI • Methodology - Agile / SAFe Agile Beacon Hill offers a robust benefit package including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and federal and state leave programs as required by applicable agency regulations to those that meet eligibility.
