BDR is seeking a Senior Distributed Ledger Technology Engineer to join our growing team! This position is primarily remote with travel as requested. It requires availability during EST business hours. US Citizenship is required with Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one. Role Overview: The Senior DLT Engineer will design, develop, and integrate distributed ledger capabilities into the Theater Blood (TBLD) application under the JOMIS program. This role will focus on leveraging blockchain/DLT to ensure secure, resilient, and auditable data exchange across dispersed, joint operational environments. The engineer will collaborate with architects, developers, cybersecurity, and mission stakeholders to embed DLT into mission-critical medical and logistics workflows, ensuring system resilience in Denied, Degraded, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) environments. (Military Veterans and HUBZone candidates are highly encouraged to apply) Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to): Design and implement blockchain/DLT frameworks to support blood supply chain provenance, audit trails, and secure data sharing. Develop smart contracts and consensus mechanisms optimized for DDIL and distributed deployments. Integrate DLT solutions with CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments to ensure automated, secure deployment. Enable interoperability between the ledger and DoD healthcare, logistics, and operational systems. Design APIs and adapters to support data exchange with both centralized and decentralized components. Ensure data consistency and integrity across hybrid cloud and distributed networks. Embed Zero Trust principles, cryptographic controls, and cyber-resilience into DLT solutions. Support Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, ensuring compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF). Automate security validation of ledger nodes and smart contracts in DevSecOps pipelines. Engineer ledger solutions that maintain continuity and survivability when connectivity is degraded or intermittent. Optimize data replication, synchronization, and reconciliation methods for tactical and theater-level operations. Work within Agile teams to define and deliver backlog items related to DLT integration. Support Tier 3 troubleshooting and reach-back for DLT-enabled features. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). 8+ years of experience in distributed systems, blockchain/DLT engineering, or cryptographic applications. Demonstrated experience with mission-critical, defense, or healthcare IT programs. Proficiency in blockchain/DLT platforms (e.g., Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, Quorum, Ethereum). Strong knowledge of smart contract development and consensus algorithms. Experience with Python, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, and containerized/microservices environments Familiarity with CI/CD, Kubernetes, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or DoD CloudOne). Deep understanding of cryptography, PKI, and secure key management. Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical, administrator and vendor stakeholders. Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship due to clearance requirement. Ability to obtain secret security clearance required; TS/SCI preferred Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies: Active secret security clearance Experience designing resilient solutions for DDIL environments and distributed military networks.
