Job Overview A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney with 3 to 6 years of experience to join their team in New York. The role involves defending complex general liability matters, including New York Labor Law, premises liability, catastrophic injury, hospitality, transportation, and negligent security. The ideal candidate is proactive, motivated, and organized, with superior writing skills. Duties • Manage a caseload of 25-30 matters. • Take depositions, attend hearings, and mediations as required. • Draft and submit pleadings, motions, and briefs. • Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients. • Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis. • Draft discovery requests and responses. • Review and analyze documents for production. • Investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies. • Report to insurance carrier clients and insureds. • Prepare cases for trial/mediation and participate in trial/mediation. Requirements • J.D. degree. • Litigation experience. • Experience taking depositions. • Excellent academic credentials. Skills • Exceptional legal writing and communication skills. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. • Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.
