Description Processing Manager (Remote) Overview The Processing Manager plays a critical leadership role, overseeing the operations of the mortgage loan Processing Department. This position is responsible for ensuring that mortgage loans are processed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements, from set up to closing. The Processing Manager will also mentor and guide team members to achieve their professional potential while maintaining a focus on operational excellence, risk management, and superior customer service. This role is ideal for a professional with deep mortgage processing expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive process improvements in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership • Oversee a team of mortgage processors and junior processors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. • Provide consistent mentoring, coaching, and training to team members to promote professional development and high performance. • Conduct regular one-on-one sessions to discuss individual goals, address challenges, and provide actionable feedback for improvement. • Host monthly team meetings to review results, provide updates on policies or process changes, and align the team on departmental objectives. • Recognize and reward team achievements to maintain high morale and motivation. • Address personnel issues promptly and effectively, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and goals. • Act as the onboarding processor for all New Branch’s. To access the proper fit for the assigned processor. Operational Management • Manage the end-to-end mortgage loan processing lifecycle, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks, from loan setup and disclosure to pre-closing and closing. • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for team members and an escalation point for resolving complex processing issues or customer concerns. • Collaborate with other departments, including underwriting, compliance, post-closing and sales, to ensure smooth communication and coordination. • Oversee pipeline management to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met and that loans are processed within specified timelines. Compliance and Risk Management • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and investor regulations, including TRID, RESPA, and TILA, throughout the loan processing lifecycle. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and incorporate changes into departmental processes and procedures. • Implement and enforce risk mitigation policies to protect the organization from compliance violations or regulatory penalties. • Monitor disclosure accuracy and timelines to uphold transparency and legal compliance. Process Improvement • Continuously evaluate departmental workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or areas for improvement. • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and overall performance of the processing team. • Support the adoption of new tools, systems, and technologies to streamline operations and improve the mortgage processing experience. Customer Experience • Serve as the primary escalation point for customer issues, working diligently to resolve concerns quickly and effectively. • Promote a customer-centric culture by ensuring clear, timely, and professional communication with borrowers, loan officers, and external partners. • Partner with sales teams to align customer expectations and maintain high levels of satisfaction throughout the loan application process. • Monitor feedback and implement improvements to enhance the overall borrower experience. Requirements Qualifications Required Skills And Experience • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage loan processing, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role. • Proficiency in the Encompass Loan Origination System • Comprehensive knowledge of Non-QM and broker transactions, as well as federal, state, and investor regulations governing mortgage processing. • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage teams in a high-pressure environment. • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance. Preferred Skills And Experience • Active or eligible NMLS registration. • Experience managing processing, pre-underwriting, or similar functions.
