5+ years in B2B software content marketing, strong writing and analytical skills, familiarity with data visualization, and ability to influence executive audiences.
Role: Copy Editor/Writer Location: Remote Duration: Contract Responsibilities: Using the research vendor’s survey data as a starting point, work with internal subject matter experts to understand and interpret survey results. Build a narrative structure for the report that tells a clear and cohesive story, organizing it into distinct chapters that explain the data and what it means to ensure strong audience engagement. Draw insights and commentary via subject matter expert interviews to augment and expand upon the data, including Splunk expert recommendations and guidance. Recommend pull quotes and charts and their placement within the final report. Proof the report carefully in layout. Write additional supporting material for report launch, including landing pages and blogs. Adhere to Splunk’s editorial style and brand voice/tone. Skills and qualifications: A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or journalism. 5+ years of experience in content marketing for B2B software, including cybersecurity software. Successful track record of developing marketing content to influence executives such as CISO, CTO, or CIO. Must be proficient in writing long-form assets like ebooks and research reports, and provide recent samples. Excellent analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions from data. Excellent writing and editorial skills. Superior communicator who can articulate complex information clearly. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong collaborator. Familiarity with principles of effective data visualization and survey design is preferred. Experience with product marketing or solutions marketing is a plus.
