Full Description

The Maintenance Worker is proactively responsible for the maintenance of BACS' properties. The position ensures all properties are in good condition and maintains responsibility for timely completion of all required repairs. Schedule: Day shift (Monday - Friday) or (Tuesday-Saturday) or (Sunday - Thursday) Hours: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Location: Oakland Looking to hire 1-2 property maintenance Techs in Oakland. It is a 40 Unit in Oakland site, and we are in need of someone to work either Mon-Friday, Tues-Sat, or Sunday-Thur schedule. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions): • Ensures agency properties are maintained in good condition. • Performs general/routine maintenance, inspection, cleaning, major/minor repairs, and painting of furnished/vacant units and ensures the units are in good rental condition. • Consults and communicates with program staff regarding any tenant problems with regard to housing concerns, property maintenance, and property improvement issues on a weekly basis. • Arranges for estimates, oversees and/or performs all major repairs and emergency repairs authorized by the Property Manager. • Maintains vendor listing and works to identify county-wide, cost effective vendors for routine needs such as gardening, cleaning, etc. • Conducts monthly site inspections at BACS operated facilities and reviews findings with manager. • Attends all trainings as required. • Inputs and retrieves work flow through a maintenance ticketing system which tracks trends, usage, and needs. • Responds to all facility emergencies same day and all non-urgent maintenance requests according to standard. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: • A minimum of three years of property maintenance experience is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The position requires lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Must possess own equipment and tools necessary to perform the work. The position requires the ability to see, hear and speak. ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed at program sites throughout Alameda County. EQUIPMENT USED: A variety of tools, hand truck, dolly, computer, keyboard, telephone. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Position requires a valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage. DMV printout required.
