Now hiring! Farm Team Lead Acampo, CA We are looking for a Farm Team Lead to join our Agricultural Solutions business supporting our Vegetable Seeds team in Acampo, California. We help farmers deliver the best possible outcomes, working to achieve the balance between economic, environmental and social value creation for sustainable and efficient agriculture. The Farm Team Lead plays a vital role in managing agricultural operations in open fields, net houses, and greenhouses, ensuring optimal crop quality and yield. This involves developing strategic crop plans that incorporate the best agronomic practices like groundwork, pest control, fertilization, and irrigation. It monitors weather impacts, implements weekly operational schedules, and efficiently manage agronomic resources and labor As a Farm Team Lead, you create chemistry by... • Managing personnel involved in crop management • Procuring seasonal and contracted workforce for operations • Overseeing agricultural operations in open fields, net houses, and greenhouses • Building strong relationships with internal clients through regular discussions and field visits to ensure optimal service • Contributing to the development and implementation of new technologies • Participating in planning and monitoring the Farm OpEx budget and proactively communicating discrepancies to supervisors • Keeping detailed operational and compliance recordsEnsuring adherence to global EHS, RC implementation standards, hygiene protocols, and local regulations • Following company procedures for asset management and maintaining a planned maintenance schedule • Collaborating with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with BASF procedures If you... • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a closely related field (required) • Have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in farming, agriculture, and crop management (required) • Have at least 3 years’ managerial experience (required) • Demonstrate excellent communication and follow-up skills (required) • Possess strong digital and technical skills (required) • Have knowledge of farm equipment operation (tractors, sprayers, etc.) and maintenance (required) • Have expertise in crop management and seed production, including crop protection, irrigation, and fertilization (required) • Are solution‑oriented, detail‑oriented, and bring an innovative mindset (required) • Are fluent in English and Spanish (required) • Are able to travel up to 10% (required) • Have an understanding of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) and RC (Responsible Care) principles and regulations (preferred) • Have vegetable growing or seed production experience (preferred) Create your own chemistry with you@BASF At BASF, you will have the chance to do meaningful work towards building a more sustainable future.
