Operations Manager Job Summary: Operations Managers manage field employees and track job progression. They serve as an onsite point of contact for their supervisors and customers. Operations managers ensure flawless execution and timeliness of the projects they are assigned. Operations Managers will also have a working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards that govern the projects they are assigned. Duties/Responsibilities: • Responsible for 5 to 25 employees for projects ranging from $5000 to $1.5 million. • Mobilize and demobilize jobs. • Oversee project schedules and manpower. • Set direction for Installers/Technicians and drive productivity and profitability. • Communicate project status & forecast to Project Manager • Prepare project documentation as required(field work orders, weekly summaries, etc.) • Enforce company safety policies. • Material and equipment procurement within guidelines • Perform quality control audits. • Perform the role of Installer/Technician as needed. • Customer relations and coaching employees • Train all technicians for proper installation of each product prior to starting projects. • Train technicians to inspect for quality control. • Monitor weekly workforce schedules. • Set expectations of daily productivity and quality on the job. • Review Safety Procedures and enforce standards. • Utilize approved submittals, Spec-Data sheets, etc. to review the materials being installed. • Drive performance so that each project is completed under budget and on schedule. • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle. • Communicate and hit all project milestones, ensuring timely execution of projects according to plan. • Completion of paperwork required on a typical project (i.e., electronic daily reports, safety toolbox talks, etc.) providing accurate documentation for customers code compliance. • Collaborate with Sales and Operations Management in discussions to outline the scope of work including expectations and specifications. • Proactively identify risks, issues, and work to develop creative, client-centric, and cost-effective solutions. • Document repairs that cannot be completed, obtain and record specifications for materials to be ordered. • Provide guidance and coordination with multiple departments around approaches solutions, and best practices. • Interact professionally using excellent communication skills with a diverse group of managers. • Document specific project issues and resolutions for cumulative lessons learned. • Assist in the development, documentation and communication of policies and standards. • Maintaining strict accountability of all equipment and tools. • Coach, mentor, motivate technicians, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. • Responsible for preparing and maintaining monthly and other periodic budgets, and for driving revenue to achieve budget objectives. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements and Preferred Experience: • Must have 6+ years of experience leading multiple crews on commercial construction job sites in one or more of the following trades: drywall, plumbing, insulation, masonry, waterproofing, joint sealant, firestopping. • Must have experience leading up to 25field employees across multiple job sites as a superintendent. • Must have project experience on high-rise, educational, data center, hospital projects, retail, hotel, banking, residential, etc.) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Calendar. • Ability to learn various software systems used throughout the company. • Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
