The Position: The Logistics Coordinator, reporting to the Transportation Operations Supervisor/Director, Transportation is responsible for managing all aspects of shipping routes and delivery, specifically with regard to customer satisfaction. Will provide analysis of current transportation and operations practices to determine process and cost improvement opportunities. This position works Monday through Friday, from 8am-5pm. The compensation range for this positions is $55K-$60K/year, depending on experience. Your Day-to-Day: • Provide guidance on import/export issues including but not limited to documentation, tariffs, ACE/AES, drayage. • Liaise with internal DC operations around the country to ensure proper process flow regarding outbound/inbound shipments. • Monitor key account transportation cycles. Respond creatively with a sense of urgency to changing business needs. Ensure management is well informed of volume and workflow changes. • Assist department managers with service provider relationships and service improvement initiatives. • Research and resolve service failures, potential service failures; provide root cause analysis for both. • Institute and monitor organizational protocols for effective transportation flow. • Conduct minor analytic work for department. • Prepare, proof and distribute reporting daily, monthly, etc.; reporting revolves around carrier service reports, exceptions, client metrics, etc. • Observe and recommend workflow changes, training opportunities and service enhancements to ensure we are always improving the business. • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements, analyze solutions, and implement changes. • Oversee the daily trucking routes and driver schedules that make required stops outlined in customer contracts. • Use multiple resources to research, resolve and document anomalies. Conduct proactive tracking of shipment delays and engage in contingency planning and solutions with management. • Perform other duties as assigned What You Bring to the Table: • High School Diploma/GED required • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. • A minimum of three (3) years practical work in a customer service or transportation environment. • Two (2) years of import/export experience preferred. • Proficient in all Microsoft business applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. • Basic understanding of warehouse management systems preferred. • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred). • Basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Experience must demonstrate the ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
