Job Community Engagement and Inclusion Graduate Storytelling and Operations Assistant Job Summary This Graduate Assistant supports the Director of Engaged Scholarship in the Office of Community Engagement & Inclusion (CEI) and works to support communications and operations strategy for the CEI office. The Graduate Assistant will join a team of professional staff and students to support and further the mission of the Office of Community Engagement and Inclusion (CEI). CEI initiatives cultivate partnerships that strengthen communities and develop actively engaged citizens. Job Description This Graduate Assistant supports the Director of Engaged Scholarship in the Office of Community Engagement & Inclusion (CEI) and works to support communications and operations strategy for the CEI office. The Graduate Assistant will join a team of professional staff and students to support and further the mission of the Office of Community Engagement and Inclusion (CEI). CEI initiatives cultivate partnerships that strengthen communities and develop actively engaged citizens. Work Schedule Must make a commitment to work, on average, 10-15 hours of work a week. This position is for the Fall 2025 semester with option to extend into Spring 2025 Essential Duties Summary The Graduate Assistant working with the Office of Community Engagement and Inclusion will be responsible for the following: • Assist with day-to-day office duties, including supporting and enhancing all internal and external communications • Supervise undergraduate social media and graphics interns • Maintain/update the CEI Engagement and Community Partners database • Curate and design weekly newsletters for students, faculty and staff with engagement opportunities (volunteer and service-learning opportunities) and external community partners to learn more about opportunities for engagement at Barnard • Develop content with Director and Associate Director to highlight the work of community engaged scholars, students and others at the college • Assist with data collection and analysis of civic engagement data related to civic engagement activities • Attend weekly staff meetings • Attend and support CEI Advisory Group meetings as needed • Performing outreach and promotion of events as needed Salary Range $25 per hour for Master’s Level $30 per hour for Doctoral Level Skills, Qualifications & Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • A passion for and high value of civic learning and community engagement • Excellent communication skills • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail • Experience in community engagement and outreach program development, preferred • Experience in communications, strongly preferred • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Must take direction and feedback well • Must be comfortable with public speaking and group facilitation and have some experience in both • Teamplayer Required Qualification Summary Must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program. Must be available to work weekdays and some evenings and/or weekends. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
