Operate trucks and equipment for road and pipe maintenance, perform repairs, and assist with town maintenance tasks.
High school diploma, 3+ months related experience, Class A CDL or ability to obtain, ability to operate machinery, and physical endurance.
Summary: As a Street Laborer, you must have knowledge, skills, and abilities to be able to operate various trucks and equipment for each essential duty. This role will work on pipe repair and maintenance, road maintenance, and other town maintenance needs, serving on-call for emergencies. What you’ll do: • Operate multiple and single axle trucks in clearing and maintaining town roads, sewers, ditches, and right of way • Install, repair, and clean drainage pipes, tile headers, and manholes using equipment and tools • Perform chip and seal, shovel and rake sand, salt, hot and cold mix, aggregate, and other materials in cleaning snow and ice, repairing roads and pipes • Periodically removes trash, animal carcasses, and debris from right-of-ways • Periodically perform various preventative maintenance functions, including ensuring proper fluid levels, greasing equipment, and recording in logs as required • Maintains the cleanliness of the shop and grounds as required • Occasionally assists with flagging/traffic control and assists the Sign Technician • Serves on call for 24-hour emergencies • Complete other duties as assigned What you bring: • High school diploma or GED • 3+ months related experience • Must be able to work at a moderate pace • Must possess a Class A CDL license (or obtain within a reasonable time) • Ability to learn quickly and efficiently • Must be able to work long hours while operating various machinery • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals sdWzgkE6GD
