Barack Obama Leadership Academy, 2025 - 2026 We are a K-8 school serving students in the Detroit-Metropolitan area. We stand for academic excellence and are dedicated to providing the highest quality educational experience that will develop and build upon the leadership characteristics that are inherent in all children. We are seeking qualified and motivated teachers for 2025 – 2026 to help us transform our students into world class leaders. Job Description - The ability to plan, create and deliver and/or follow lesson plans - Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and test - Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment - Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development - Provide a structured learning atmosphere - Maintaining positive environment in the classroom - Monitor student attendance and behavior - Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings - The ability to develop positive working relationships with students, administrators and staff Requirements - B.A./B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution - Must have a Michigan Teaching Certification in corresponding subject area - Thorough knowledge of Michigan Common Core Curriculum - Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software - Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills - Experience working in a culturally diverse setting - Ability to work independently and within a team environment - Flexible open minded, self-driven team member Preferred Experience -Some background in African Centered Education -Some experience in methodology in African Principles BOLA is an equal opportunity employer Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $51,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Professional development assistance • Referral program • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
