Job brief The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s recipes and standards. This role requires efficiency, attention to detail, and teamwork to ensure a smooth and successful service. The Line Cook will work closely with the culinary team to execute menu items, maintain kitchen organization, and uphold food safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Execution  Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.  Maintain prep levels to meet service demands while minimizing waste.  Ensure all dishes are delivered hot, fresh, and consistent in quality.  Follow direction from Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager to execute daily service and specials. Kitchen Operations & Teamwork  Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies prior to service.  Work collaboratively with fellow line cooks, chefs, and expeditors to maintain smooth service.  Maintain cleanliness and organization of station throughout service and during breakdown.  Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory according to company procedures.  Stay active and engaged with proactively anticipating prep, stocking needs and manage the set up and breakdown of your station to reach maximum productivity while maintaining quality.Quality & Safety Standards  Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.  Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation before dishes leave the kitchen.  Follow proper labeling, storage, and FIFO (first-in, first-out) rotation procedures.  Report any equipment issues or safety hazards promptly. Growth & Development  Demonstrate a willingness to learn and master new techniques, stations, and recipes.  Support training of new line cooks and prep cooks as needed.  Contribute ideas for specials or improvements to menu items. Qualifications  Previous cooking experience in a restaurant environment preferred.  Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen while maintaining accuracy.  Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.  Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.  Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and plating guides with precision. Physical Demands  Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout shifts.  Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs.  Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.  Requirements can be met with or without reasonable accommodation.
