Job Summary Senior Cloud Development Architect, Internet Administration, Days, Baptist Medical Center The Senior Cloud Developer Architect serves as a principal technical resource responsible for architecting, engineering, and delivering enterprise-grade cloud and application solutions across Baptist Health’s digital ecosystem. This role operates at the intersection of Azure cloud architecture, software engineering, and DevOps automation, providing leadership in designing secure, scalable, and resilient platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, distributed systems design, and modern development frameworks such as.NET, along with hands-on experience implementing infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, automated provisioning, and cloud-native operational practices. This role will work closely with the deployment automation team, configuration management, and IaC provisioning across multi-environment pipelines while partnering closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to improve system reliability, performance, and fault tolerance. Additionally, the position will establish proactive monitoring and alert remediation processes using Azure Automation, runbooks, and modern observability tooling. The Senior Cloud Development Architect will also manage cloud governance policies—including PIM, ASR, and Azure Policy enforcement—to ensure compliance and operational integrity. A key component of this role includes contributing to modernization initiatives, migrating legacy workloads into Azure-based cloud and hybrid architectures, and aligning solutions with enterprise architecture standards to move the organization forward. Senior Cloud Development Architect, You Will Be Responsible For • Work closely with business and all IT teams, approve, and reconcile strategic architecture goals with the current state implementations. • You will be responsible for driving architectural excellence across the Microsoft Azure ecosystem by defining and governing directives, principles, guidelines, and best practices for the organization to follow. • You will also recommend iterative paths towards the adoption of strategic architecture goals. • Hands-on technologist with significant experience in architecture and engineering of hybrid Microsoft infrastructure platforms and services, including development of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices for an automation-first approach. • Lead cultural change for cloud and automation adoption. Developing and coordinating cloud architecture with business, application, and engineering teams. • Developing a cloud strategy and coordinating the adaptation processes. Assessing applications, software and hardware. • Establish best practices for cloud across the company. • Selecting cloud providers and vetting third-party services. Help develop Cloud Center of Excellence. Develop FinOps processes. Ability to think and operate at scale • Architect and implement enterprise-grade Azure solutions, including Landing Zones, resource hierarchies, governance, and security models. • Apply Microsoft Cloud Design Patterns and Well-Architected Framework principles to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability. • Design and implement cloud resource automation using Terraform, Azure DevOps pipelines, and PowerShell/Azure CLI. • Integrate Azure with Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, and enterprise data systems to deliver end-to-end platform solutions. • Develop modern applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, and Bootstrap within secure enterprise frameworks. • Build REST APIs and microservices using Entity Framework, OData, and SQL Azure. • Implement CI/CD automation with Azure DevOps pipelines, Git branching strategies, and YAML-based configurations. • Enable observability through Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and Power BI dashboards. Education Required High School Diploma/GED Preferred Education Preferred Bachelor's Degree Experience • Minimum 8 years of related experience required • 10+ years of experience in software development, systems architecture, and technical leadership (preferred). • 5+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Services (App Services, Functions, AAD, Service Bus, Data Factory, etc.) preferred • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise architecture blueprints, integration models, and cloud governance frameworks preferred • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality architectural documentation, including system diagrams, runbooks, and reference designs preferred • Familiarity with Microsoft’s industry-standard frameworks and best practices (Well-Architected Framework, Cloud Adoption Framework, SDL) preferred • Experience developing and deploying CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code with Azure DevOps, Terraform, or ARM templates preferred • Strong background in SQL Server administration, data warehousing, and business intelligence (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) preferred • Experience leading migration projects from on-premises to Azure and modernizing legacy applications preferred • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern DevOps culture preferred License and Certification Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred) Location Baptist IT Center 3451 Beach Blvd Jacksonville, FL, 32207
