Key responsibilities of the job include delivering complex features and technology, enabling development efficiencies, providing technical thought leadership based on conducting multiple software implementations, and applying both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Additionally, this job is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery. Position Summary: This Senior Engineer role is part of Bank of America's Digital Technology organization, supporting the Digital Investments and Financial Planning portfolio. The role is responsible for designing, developing, and modernizing mission-critical platforms that enable digital investing, financial planning, portfolio management, and wealth management capabilities for clients and advisors. We are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on engineer with experience in designing and building scalable, high-availability, and secure applications in a complex enterprise environment. The successful candidate will drive modernization initiatives leveraging cloud technologies, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and container platforms while ensuring operational excellence, resiliency, and regulatory compliance. The engineer will collaborate across product, business, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions, enforce engineering best practices, perform code reviews, mentor team members, and contribute to the organization's innovation agenda through thought leadership, and continuous technology advancement. Responsibilities: Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution Define the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s) Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance –e.g. pairing, code reviews Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program level Conducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements Drive Architecture and Technology Strategy Lead Complex Engineering Delivery and Operational Excellence Accelerate Innovation and Develop Engineering Talent Required Qualifications: 12+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering large-scale enterprise applications with deep expertise in Java and/or .NET technologies 8+ years of architecture leadership experience defining solution architectures, technology roadmaps, and modernization strategies across multiple applications and teams Proven experience building and supporting high-volume, highly available, customer-facing digital platforms in complex enterprise environments Strong expertise in microservices, API-first architecture, cloud-native development, event-driven systems, containers, and CI/CD practices Deep understanding of application security, secure software development practices, authentication/authorization, and regulatory compliance requirements Experience leading cross-functional teams, conducting architecture and design reviews, mentoring engineers, and driving engineering excellence Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Desired Qualifications: Experience in Digital Investments, Wealth Management, Financial Planning, Trading, Brokerage, or Financial Services technology platforms Expertise with modern Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud) and/or .NET, including performance, scalability, and resiliency engineering Experience leading large-scale cloud migration, application modernization, and platform transformation initiatives Knowledge of event streaming, distributed caching, enterprise integration patterns, and data platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, Kafka, or similar technologies Demonstrated track record of innovation through patents, proof-of-concepts, architecture leadership, technology strategy, or industry contributions Skills: Automation Influence Result Orientation Stakeholder Management Technical Strategy Development Application Development Architecture Business Acumen Risk Management Solution Design Agile Practices Analytical Thinking Collaboration Data Management Solution Delivery Process Shift: 1st shift (United States of America) Hours Per Week: 40 Pay Transparency details US - NJ - Pennington - 1500 American Blvd - Hopewell Bldg 5 (NJ2150) Pay and benefits information Pay range $122,000.00 - $200,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
