The Opportunity We are seeking a Peer Support Specialist Supervisor to join our Mobile Crisis Team at Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. (BCRI). In this role, you’ll provide on-site crisis intervention, assessment, and stabilization services alongside a Peer Support Specialist. You’ll help individuals in crisis develop safety plans, connect to resources, and begin their path toward recovery. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by bringing compassionate care and support directly to those who need it most in the community. What You’ll Do Work collaboratively with other members of the mobile crisis team and respond to individuals in crisis in the community or hospital ED Work with the individual in crisis to develop a crisis plan, provide linkages to care and introduce other crisis planning tools to the individual as needed, prior to the MCT completion of the crisis run Work with all members of the team to facilitate engagement of the individual in crisis and helping them feel welcome and comfortable Create performance improvement plans for staff when necessary Provide regular documentation for supervision. Model behavior and ethics to the peer specialist Provide support and supervision to peer specialist. Work with individuals in crisis to assist with continuity of care by giving them mental health, addiction, peer recovery supports and other needed resources. When needed for extra support refer individuals to BCRI’s Peer Support Intervention and Support services Builds relationships with addiction, mental health and homeless outreach providers, peer recovery supports and other community resources Performs timely and accurate documentation of all clinical and client-related information Maintains professional open, effective, and appropriate communication with clients, BCRI staff, management, outside agencies and the public Complete all required trainings by the scheduled due date and maintain compliance to all BCRI policies and procedures Empower participants to become self-advocates for their own recovery/wellness Maintains professional boundaries with clients, staff and other outside agencies Works with all clients from a strengths-based perspective, providing support and encouragement as they move forward in their recovery QualificationsQualifications High school diploma, but an associate degree is preferred. Additional Valid and unrestricted driver’s license, Required Must have a minimum of two years of experience working in the field of peer recovery and possess experiential expertise dealing with our focus areas of treatment.
