Job Description This job is 100% remote We are seeking a seasoned System Administrator Manager to lead a team of Middleware Administrators in supporting critical applications across multiple internal business units, including Maritime Solutions, Space and Mission Systems, Inc., Enterprise Services, and Intelligence & Security (I&S). The ideal candidate will oversee team operations in a dynamic environment, fostering seamless collaboration and delivering high-quality solutions aligned with stakeholder requirements. This role demands exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills to drive programmatic success. Key responsibilities include ensuring the smooth operation of application middleware supporting the Deltek CostPoint application, providing technical guidance to developers and business analysts to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. The role also requires proactive management of security protocols, regulatory compliance, and system upgrades. The CostPoint application environment leverages Oracle WebLogic as its middleware platform and utilizes Java for backend operations. Key Responsibilities • Technical Leadership Skills: • Lead and manage a team of application administration specialists, including providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. • Ensure team members have the necessary skills, resources, and support to deliver high-quality solutions. • Provide technical guidance and oversight to the development team, ensuring solutions meet technical requirements and standards. • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to inform technical decisions. • Operational Skills • Application Deployment: Experience with deploying applications using various methods (manual, CI/CD pipelines). • Monitoring & Logging: Ability to set up and manage monitoring and logging tools for proactive maintenance. • Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve application issues quickly. • Version Control: Proficiency with version control systems (Git, SVN) for collaborative development and change tracking. • ITIL Framework: Understanding of ITIL service management framework for aligning IT services with business needs. • Defense Industry (BAE Systems Inc.): Understanding of defense-specific regulations, standards (e.g., NIST, DoD), and the ability to work with sensitive information securely. Education Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field US Citizen or Green Card Holder Experience • * 5+ years of experience in Application Administration, IT, or a related field, with at least 2 years of • Experience in management or leadership role • Experience in manufacturing, operations, or a related field is preferred • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing application infrastructure Technical Skills • Proven experience with application middleware tools, databases, servers, monitoring tools and debugging software • Knowledge of SDLC, security and audit/compliance requirements • Experience with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL • Programming/Scripting: Knowledge of languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and customization. • Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows, Linux/Unix, and possibly macOS, depending on the application environment. • Database Management: Understanding of database concepts and experience with DBMS like MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or NoSQL databases. • Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for deployment and management. • Networking Fundamentals: Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) for troubleshooting and configuration. • Security Protocols: Knowledge of security best practices, encryption, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST) to protect application data. Soft Skills • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions. • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills • * Fluency in English, with ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across different regions and cultures • Experience supporting application middleware for the Deltek CostPoint application • Strong business acumen and understanding of technical requirements. Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
