What You Will Contribute: Account Manager – Texas & Western U.S. Territory The Account Manager is responsible for retaining and growing existing customer relationships while driving new business development across municipal, industrial, and engineering sectors. This role provides comprehensive sales support for the Texas territory and Western U.S., including: Customer research and targeted outreach Proposal development and pricing negotiations Onboarding and training Participation in trade shows and industry events You will work closely with municipal utilities, engineering firms, and industrial customers through strategic account management, solution selling, and collaboration with channel partners. This position requires frequent customer engagement, including on-site visits, presentations, and trade show participation. SmartCover partners with water technology distributors and manufacturer’s representatives in the region. The Account Manager will support these channel partners by driving sales initiatives and providing technical and sales support. Candidates must reside within the territory to effectively serve customer needs. Key Responsibilities: Sales & Market Growth Drive sales of SmartCover monitoring solutions and DFS telemetry/SCADA systems across municipal and industrial accounts in Texas. Identify and acquire new customers through research, outreach, and lead qualification. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to implementation, including proposal development and pricing negotiations. Customer Engagement & Retention Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and identify growth opportunities. Support onboarding and training for new customers on SmartCover and DFS platforms. Build long-term partnerships with utilities, contractors, engineering firms, and industrial users. Channel Partner Support Collaborate with distributors and manufacturer’s representatives to generate interest, qualify leads, and close deals. Provide sales enablement tools such as quotes, proposals, and technical support. Reporting & Documentation Maintain accurate records in Salesforce, including orders, opportunities, and customer data. Submit regular reports on territory performance, pipeline status, and competitive insights. Industry Presence Represent SmartCover and DFS at regional trade shows, conferences, and industry events. Develop case studies and contribute to presentations at local and national conferences. Core Competencies Collaboration: Work effectively across teams to achieve shared objectives. Work Standards: Maintain high standards of performance and accountability. Qualifications Advanced negotiation skills for managing multi-million-dollar contracts (preferred). Strong problem-solving abilities to resolve customer issues effectively. Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills. Intermediate proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM systems (preferred). Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. Preference for candidates with experience in water, wastewater, or smart water technology. Minimum of 3 years in account management, ideally in municipal or utility sales.
