Analyzing workflows and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Experience in business process analysis, data analysis, and operational workflow optimization, with no specific background in technical recruiting or HR systems.
Senior Technical Recruiter About AZX Our mission is to accelerate positive impact in critical industries through AI transformation. We’re growing quickly and already work with category-leaders in real estate (CBRE), energy (LevelTen Energy), logistics (Flexe), and utilities (Puget Sound Energy). We’re a public benefit corporation founded in 2024 and have been profitable from the beginning (bootstrapped with consulting). We work on challenges in clean energy, decarbonization, climate risk, energy systems, and global economics. We’re building our company for long-term success and aim to build the ultimate place to work if you’re passionate about AI and positive impact. About the Role We’re hiring a Senior Technical Recruiter to build and scale our talent engine during a phase of rapid growth. This is a foundational role. You’ll work directly with the founders and help shape the systems, processes, and culture that support our expanding team. Your work will influence every hire we make and every candidate’s experience. You’ll own full-cycle recruiting for highly specialized roles (AI engineers, applied scientists, platform and implementation managers, energy and climate specialists) while also contributing to the design of lightweight yet effective people operations to support a growing organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth, high-clarity-needed environments, enjoys building from scratch, and cares deeply about culture, excellence, and mission alignment. You'll join a company founded by experienced, successful veterans in climate and AI. The team brings exceptional expertise from Microsoft, AI2, ARM, acquired startups, and even a major utility, including PhDs, published ML researchers, and former industry executives. What you will do You will lead recruiting across technical and strategic roles and develop early HR foundations that scale. You will define, design, implement, and execute in the following areas: Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Lead end-to-end talent acquisition across engineering, AI/ML, platform, strategy, and operations, ensuring we attract and hire the caliber of people who elevate AZX’s impact, credibility, and market position. Architect sourcing strategies for scarce, high-leverage talent in AI, energy, climate, and infrastructure, building repeatable systems that compound over time, maintain a durable pipeline of future-ready candidates, and leverage data-driven approaches rather than one-off efforts. Strengthen AZX’s talent brand and market presence by translating our mission, point of view, and differentiated way of working into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with senior operators, builders, and technical leaders in the market. Serve as a visible ambassador for AZX in the talent ecosystem, building relationships with top-tier candidates, advisors, and networks, and representing the company with credibility, clarity, and conviction in external conversations. Manage and optimize relationships with third-party recruiting partners for senior and hard-to-fill roles, ensuring alignment with AZX’s standards, culture, pace, and long-term talent strategy. Champion a world-class candidate experience that reflects AZX’s mission, values, and bias toward action, reinforcing our reputation as a place where serious builders do meaningful, high-impact work. Design, operationalize, and continuously refine a structured interview and evaluation process that raises hiring quality, reduces bias, and scales with the company as our visibility and inbound interest increase. Partner directly with founders and functional leaders to define roles, craft success profiles, and articulate what excellence looks like for each hire, aligning internal expectations with how AZX shows up in the market. Culture & Values Model and reinforce AZX cultural principles: humility, mission-focus, clarity, speed, and zero inflated bureaucracy Contribute to an environment where teams collaborate well, communicate openly, and do exceptional work Core Qualifications - Technical and foundational 10+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience with at least 5+ years focused on technical recruiting Extensive experience hiring senior engineers, ML/AI specialists, data scientists, and technical leaders Strong sourcing skills across platforms, networks, research communities, and niche talent pools Demonstrated ability to build recruiting processes, not just run them Experience supporting or running people operations in a small or fast-moving environment Strong communication and candidate relationship skills in often ambiguous situations Comfortable influencing executives and collaborating with cross-functional teams Understanding of startup dynamics and the demands on early hires Values and Culture Qualifications High emotional intelligence and a learning mindset Strong collaboration skills Enjoy others' success and a fun, positive environment. Proven ability to design and run effective onboarding programs, culture rituals, and internal communication practices that drive alignment, clarity, and healthy team dynamics.
