Project Manager (Part-Time Contractor, Remote) About AZX Our mission is to accelerate positive impact in critical industries through AI transformation. We’re growing quickly and already work with category-leaders in real estate (CBRE), energy (LevelTen Energy), logistics (Flexe) and utilities (can’t say which large utility yet). We’re a public benefit corporation, founded in 2024 and have been profitable from the beginning (bootstrapped with consulting). We work on challenges in clean energy, decarbonization, climate risk, energy systems and global economics. About the Role We are seeking a Project Manager to help lead client initiatives and internal projects on a part-time contractor basis, with the potential to grow into a full-time role. You’ll collaborate closely with AZX founders, engineers, and AI specialists to deliver impactful outcomes in sustainability and AI-enabled transformation. As an early member of the project leadership team, you’ll help shape our delivery model, support client relationships, and ensure projects are executed effectively. What You Will Do Manage client engagements from initiation to delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved and expectations met Coordinate software and AI solution design and implementation with internal teams and client stakeholders Facilitate workshops and working sessions, translating discussions into clear action plans Build and maintain project standards, checklists, and documentation that improve efficiency and repeatability Track milestones, manage risks and dependencies, and provide clear reporting to clients and internal stakeholders Support development of early-stage prototypes and pilots that advance sustainability and operational innovation Core Qualifications 5+ years of project management experience in technology or related industries Track record delivering custom-built software, AI, or data solutions with measurable outcomes Strong technical literacy (comfortable discussing system architecture, APIs, or ML deployment with engineers) Familiarity with one or more of AZX’s focus industries: energy, utilities, real estate, logistics, or infrastructure Proficiency with project management tools and methods (Agile, Kanban, Jira, Asana, etc.) Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills Values and Culture High emotional intelligence and collaborative mindset Passion for client success and positive climate impact Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting as projects evolve Motivated by outcomes, not just process Bonus Qualifications Experience in both startup and enterprise environments Exposure to AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics solutions Contributions to the professional community (publications, talks, open-source work) Logistics & Compensation Part-time, contractor-based role (~15-25 hours/week to start) Remote, U.S.-based (with occasional travel for client meetings or company summits) Opportunity to transition into full-time based on performance and growth Competitive contractor compensation based on experience and capabilities Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States..
