The Customer Site Operations Technician I is responsible for understanding and performing all functions related to an assigned project, ensuring that all SOPs are properly followed and customer needs are met. This includes sample receipt and QC, coordinating shipments, and maintaining communication with various stakeholders.
An associate degree in a related field and 2-3 years of experience with handling preclinical and clinical samples are preferred. The role also requires the ability to work safely with potentially infectious materials and lift up to 50 lbs.

The incumbent ensures that all SOPs are properly followed, maintain communications, receives, and executes tasks as assigned and within timeline while ensuring customer needs are met. What You’ll Do Sample receipt and QC, coordinating and triaging shipments to appropriate departments/vendors, sample shipment receipt verification by either paper form or database (chain of custody is critical to ensure sample integrity). Work across functional areas within R&D to appropriately triage incoming shipments to support clinical and preclinical trial timelines. Freezer defrosting and cleaning, destruction of samples as permitted, and return of samples back into inventory. Coordinate with Azenta On-site leadership to anticipate customer needs. Perform project task(s) to best of ability as assigned by Azenta Customer Site leadership. Serve as a REES On-call tech a minimum of 1 week per month in the event of temperature excursions planned or otherwise Initiate communication with multiple contacts within customer site to maintain or cultivate relationships and gather intelligence about customers' needs and problems. Assist others in resolving technical or operational problems to ensure an accurate and timely resolution. Maintain a safe work environment by following all established safety and universal precautions guidelines and procedures. Ensure adherence to all Azenta & BMS quality and safety policies and SOPs as well as assigned location safety policies. Follow GCP and GLP guidelines; and adhere to specific BMS policies and procedures outlined in training courses, work instructions, and BMS SOPs. Database entry into Watson LIMS, POLARIS, LabMatrix IT systems, and REES (with potential for other databases as well) in order to support normal Specimen Library operations and study design changes needed due to protocol amendments. Assist with issue resolution, documentation and tracking of sample and manifest issues across preclinical and clinical studies. What You Will Bring Associates degree in related field 2-3 years of experience with handing (receipt, storage, and destruction) preclinical and clinical samples preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences preferred Physical Requirements Ability and willingness to work with LN2 (after appropriate training is received). Work safely with radioactive materials; follow guidelines for handling, shipping, and disposal of these materials; maintain a safe work environment. Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
