Aya Healthcare has an exciting contract opportunity in the Milford, MA area!! Job Details: JOB TITLE: Patient Transporter CONTRACT LENGTH: 13-weeks SCHEDULE: 3p-11p alternating weekends. LOCATION: Milford, MA ONBOARDING TIME: Expect 3-5 weeks from offer acceptance to start date. Position Summary The Patient Transporter is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients, equipment, and materials throughout the hospital. This role plays a key part in supporting patient care by ensuring safe movement, maintaining comfort, and assisting with essential hospital operations. Major Responsibilities • Escort ambulatory patients and transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed. • Verify patient identification using two identifiers and complete Safe Patient Transport forms prior to transport. • Monitor and respond to basic patient needs before, during, and after transport; provide proper handoff communication at the receiving unit. • Assist nursing staff and/or lift technicians in moving and positioning patients using lift devices and proper infection control protocols. • Deliver and sanitize beds, cribs, stretchers, wheelchairs, and transport equipment; assist with deep-cleaning on a scheduled basis. • Safely transport patient specimens, pathology items, and blood products according to infection control guidelines. • Deliver medical records, pharmaceuticals, radiology materials, sterile supplies, mail, and miscellaneous items as required. Qualifications Required: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to foster collaboration across hospital departments. Preferred: • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (within 6 months of hire). • Six months of experience in a hospital environment.
